Introduction

My name is Brandon Louis Widder. I was born and raised in a small town by the name of Ojai in southern California. The majority of my family lives on the east coast besides my parents and my two older brothers. I like to spend a lot of my time involved in music, rock climbing, hiking, and just relaxing. I came to HSU to get away from my home town; I have always had a strong desire to get away and see what else is out there. I have no particular major in mind, possibly Anthropology and a minor in Studio Art, but at this time I am not certain whether or not that is what I want to do with the education I receive here at HSU. For anyone who has not read the novel Into Thin Air Jon Krakauer, I highly recommend it if you have some free time. It's an informative novel regarding the climbing history of Mt. Everest and a first hand account of what it's like to partake in the perilous climb.

Wow! Your wild. Yeah, I left home for the exact same reason that you did, to get away. But it's really good to get out every once in a while. It's real cool that you like to rock climb and stuff, HSU is the place for you.

I don't blame you for wanting to get out of southern California. I can't stand it down there either. I love "Into Thin Air." That book is a life changing read. I also enjoyed "Into the Wild." I love music as well as probably everyone else in the world. I have heard great things about HSU's Anthropology program. Life is too short to not do what you want.
